Fire Damage Restoration in Dallas, TX
After the fire is out, the real damage starts. Soot eats metal in hours, smoke buries itself in drywall, and water from the suppression keeps everything wet. We stop all of it — fast — across every Dallas neighborhood.
What we do after a fire in your Dallas home
Most Dallas fire calls we get come from one of four sources: kitchen grease fires that escape the stovetop, electrical fires (older homes in Lakewood, M Streets and Oak Cliff are the usual suspects), HVAC and dryer-vent ignitions, and chimney fires during the first cold snap of the year. The damage path looks the same regardless — flames hit one area, but smoke, soot, and water from the fire department spread through the whole house.
We take it from the moment the fire trucks pull away. Board-up, soot extraction, smoke-odor neutralization, structural drying from suppression water, content pack-out, and full reconstruction — under one roof, on one schedule, with one set of insurance paperwork. No subcontractor handoffs, no scheduling roulette.
Emergency board-up & tarping
Broken windows, roof openings and unsecured doors get sealed within the first few hours. Stops weather, theft and animal entry while we plan the full restoration.
Soot & smoke residue removal
Dry-soot, wet-soot and protein-residue all need different cleaning protocols. We identify the type and use the right chemical sponge, HEPA vacuum or solvent for each surface.
Smoke odor neutralization
Ozone, hydroxyl generators and thermal fogging — they break the odor at the molecular level. Air fresheners just hide it; this eliminates it.
Structural drying from suppression water
Fire hoses dump thousands of gallons. If that water sits, you've got mold inside 48 hours on top of the fire damage. We dry to IICRC standard before any rebuild starts.
Content pack-out & cleaning
Furniture, electronics, clothing, photos, art. We inventory, pack out, clean off-site at our climate-controlled facility, and pack back in when the home is done.
HVAC & duct decontamination
Smoke pulls into the air handler and coats every duct. Clean the rest of the house, leave the ducts dirty, and the smell comes back the first time the system kicks on.
Full structural rebuild
Drywall, framing, flooring, cabinets, paint. We pick up where the demo crew leaves off so you only deal with one company from the day of the fire to move-in day.
Insurance documentation
Photo log, scope-of-work, line-item Xactimate estimate, daily moisture readings. Your adjuster gets the file they need to approve the claim — first time.
What to do right after a Dallas house fire
If anyone is hurt, that's the only thing that matters — call 911 first, then us. Once everyone is safe, the next 24 hours decide how much of your home survives.
1. Don't go back in until the fire department clears it
Hot spots can re-ignite. Smoke and CO levels can be lethal even in rooms that look fine. The DFD or whichever municipal department responded will tell you when the structure is safe.
2. Take photos of everything before anything is moved
Wide shots of every room, close-ups of obvious damage. Your adjuster will ask. We add to it once we're on-site, but the first set is yours.
3. Call your insurance carrier
Open the claim immediately. The clock on temporary housing (loss-of-use) and content coverage starts the moment the claim is open, not the moment the fire started.
4. Call us — 682-758-1624
We'll get a board-up crew on the way same-day, do a free walk-through with you, and write the scope your adjuster needs. Most Dallas homeowners are out of the property within 24-48 hours into a hotel paid by their carrier; we keep the work moving while you're displaced.
How Dallas fire damage claims actually work
Texas homeowner policies cover fire damage on both sides of the house — dwelling coverage rebuilds the structure, contents coverage replaces what was inside, and loss-of-use covers a hotel or rental while you're displaced. The policy limits and deductible are different on each, and almost every homeowner we work with is surprised by what their policy actually pays for.
We bill the carrier directly when the claim closes, which means most Dallas families pay only their deductible on the structure side and don't write a check for $20,000 of soot remediation up front. We document the loss to IICRC S700 (Restoration of Fire and Smoke-Damaged Materials) and S500 (Water Damage from Suppression) standards, which is what the adjuster needs to approve the scope.
Carriers we deal with daily on Dallas fire claims: Allstate, State Farm, Farmers, USAA, Travelers, Liberty Mutual, Progressive, Nationwide, American Family, Texas Farm Bureau. If your carrier isn't on that list, we handle them anyway — the documentation standards are universal.

What we see across the city
Kitchen grease fires
By far the most common Dallas fire call. Damage is usually contained to the kitchen and adjacent rooms, but smoke and grease residue spread through the whole HVAC system. Cabinets, counters, and ceiling drywall above the stove almost always need to come out.
Electrical fires (older homes)
Knob-and-tube and aluminum wiring in 1940s-1960s homes through Lakewood, M Streets, Oak Cliff, Bishop Arts and parts of East Dallas. Fires often start in walls and travel up to the attic. Demo is more invasive — entire wall sections come out — but the rebuild is cleaner because we can update wiring at the same time.
Dryer-vent & HVAC ignitions
Lint buildup in dryer vents and HVAC closet electrical faults. Damage is usually localized but smoke travels through ducts to every room of the house. We don't sign off on a job until duct cleaning and odor verification confirm the smell is fully gone.
Chimney & fireplace fires
First cold snap of the year, December through February. Creosote ignition in the flue, sometimes spreading to attic framing. Common in Highland Park, University Park and Lakewood homes that still use real wood-burning fireplaces.
Wildfire & brush-fire smoke damage
Homes that didn't burn but absorbed smoke from a nearby fire. The structure looks fine, but everything smells like a campfire for months. Full HVAC and contents decontamination is the fix — the home itself usually doesn't need rebuild.
Total losses
Rare but they happen. We coordinate demo, debris haul-off, and full ground-up rebuild with your insurance carrier. The timeline is usually 8-14 months from claim approval to move-in, depending on the scope.

Dallas fire damage — common questions
Same-day for the emergency board-up. Our typical Dallas response window is 60-90 minutes for the first crew door-to-door. The full restoration walkthrough usually happens the next morning when the structure is fully cleared by the fire department and you've had a chance to talk to your carrier.
Yes — but only by removing the source, not masking it. Smoke molecules embed in porous materials (drywall, fabric, wood, carpet pad). Either we clean those materials with a process strong enough to break the molecule, or we remove and replace them. Air fresheners and ozone alone don't work on serious damage. Done right, the smell is fully gone before we hand the home back.
Small kitchen fires with localized damage: 2-4 weeks. Mid-size fires (multiple rooms, full HVAC clean, contents pack-out): 6-10 weeks. Major fires that took out half the structure or more: 4-8 months. Total losses: 8-14 months from claim approval to move-in. We give a written timeline at the scope walk-through.
Most accidental fires are fully covered under standard Texas homeowner policies — dwelling, contents, and loss-of-use. The exceptions are arson by the policyholder, fires from illegal activity, and damage that exceeds your policy limits (rare unless you're under-insured). We document the loss to industry standard so the carrier has no reason to deny anything legitimate.
No — we'd rather see it first. Things you'd assume are total losses (fabric furniture, photos, electronics) can often be saved with the right cleaning process, and your insurance covers that cleaning. Once it's in the dumpster, the carrier can't reimburse you for it because there's no proof of loss.
Both. We're a full-service restoration company — water/fire/mold mitigation plus reconstruction (drywall, framing, flooring, cabinets, paint). One company, one schedule, one insurance scope. Most of our Dallas clients prefer that over juggling a separate mitigation company and a separate GC.
